Great American Race Stops in Eastland
07/02/2007 -
Plans for the Great American Race are underway! Drivers from all over the United States will come through Eastland on Sunday, July 8th. Festivities will begin at 1:20 with a brief ceremony, and beautiful classic cars of all types will begin arriving on our downtown square around 1:30!
Fire Chief Phillip Arther has announced that the Eastland Fire Department will prepare a fish dinner for the drivers. The meal will include fish, French fries, hush puppies, beans, and tea. Proceeds will go to our hard working fire department!
Radio Personality, Fearless Fernandez of KEAN 105 will be there to entertain the crowd as he broadcasts live on the air you'll be able to enjoy live classic hits from the Exit 343 Band!
A drawing for a grand prize will be held at 3:30 that afternoon. Goodie bags will be handed out to all drivers and their passengers. We would like to make this a fun and memorable stop for our visitors in Eastland.
Grand Race Participants begin the race in Concord and finish in Anaheim!
Visit the Great Race website for race schedule and photos.
