Eastland Hires New City Manager
07/18/2008 - Ron Holliday was hired by the Eastland City Commission during a recent meeting to replace retiring City Manager Don Wilson. Holliday began working alongside Wilson July 1 and will officially take over the reins of the city on September 1.

Ron and Alice have come full circle as they were both born in Gorman, she was raised in Cisco and he in Woodson. Ron has an extensive resume that led the commission to take a serious look at him. He graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and after receiving a Masterʼs Degree from Colorado State University, he worked for the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Dept. for 16 years with the last eight as the Montana State Park Director.
For 14 years he served as state park directors in Colorado and Texas and then decided to switch his carreer path when he became the County Manager of Jefferson County, Colorado in 1996. In 2002 he became the county manager in Summit, Colo. where he served in that position until December 2007 when he retired and moved back to Eastland County. He and Alice say this time back in Eastland County is for good!
Ron has numerous degrees and training certificates that will be a great asset to his position as Eastland City Manager including, an Intergrated Emergency Management Course from FEMA in.
