Lions Club Convention Comes to Eastland County

03/18/2009 - The 2009 Lions Club District 2-E1 Convention will be held in Eastland, Texas on April 3-4, District 2-E1 Governor, Dean Vernon, announced last week. Several dynamic and interesting speakers are expected at the events, including Lions International Director Dr. Jeremiah “Doc” Myers from Kodiac, Alaska, who always brings an inspiring message.

District 2-E1 is comprised of twenty-three counties: Stonewall, Hardeman, Foard, Knox, Haskell, Jones, Taylor, Wilbarger, Baylor, Throckmorton, Shackelford, Callahan, Wichita, Archer, Young, Stephens, Eastland, Comanche, Erath, Palo Pinto, Jack Clay, and Montague.

To kick off the convention, Region 3 Lions send a special invitation to all District Lions and guests on Friday, April 3 to attend a complimentary Boy Scout Trail Burger meal and entertainment at the Ranger Community Center, located on Pine St. in Ranger, Texas. Serving will begin at 7:00 p.m. Region 3 includes clubs from Albany, Breckenridge, Cisco, Eastland, Gordon, Gorman, Ranger, and Strawn.

Interesting and fun activities continue in Eastland on Saturday, April 4. A Key Member breakfast will be held at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 405 S. Seaman Street, as well as the luncheon and District Governor banquet that evening. Attendees will also meet for golf Saturday. Entry deadline for golf is March 28, 2009.

Registration fee is $10, Key Member Breakfast $12, Luncheon $15, and DG Banquet $18. A discount package including all meals, registration fee and Trail Burgers is $50, golf not included.
